Finding Your Passion

The Thought Chapter by Shalee Rae Finding Your Passion.jpg

Last night I listened to Disc 1 of Cheryl Richardson's audio CD "Find Your Passion". If you are feeling a little lost with what you want to do, or you want to get your creative juices flowing - i would highly recommend you purchase her CDS :

This is what I got out of disc 1
- Note down what gives you tingles (i had this the other day when I was creating my online store).
- Connect with your inner feelings. If you can't understand your feelings, then you won't be able to access what makes you passionate.
- Note down what you get excited talking about
- Start with the basics. Get your life, health, sleeping patterns and house flowing first.
- Remove things from your life rather than add things
- Get passionate about self-care. Get passionate about your relationship with yourself
- Ask yourself - what section of the book store are you drawn to? And if you're like me and you're drawn to EVERY section, then pick which one pops into your head first.
- What movies evoke feelings in you?
- Listen to music that you listened to when you were about 12-13 years old.
- What music videos or pictures or stories in newspapers and magazines are you drawn to?
- What personal challenges have you come up against?
- Who are the people that you are drawn to?
- She recommends starting a passion page in your journal
- She asks you to answer the following questions for yourself, and find the common theme. I've written my answers and an example.

1. What ONE section of the book store are you drawn too? : Biographies
2. What stories in magazines and newspapers are you attracted to? : Celebrity Interviews
3. What are your three favourite books of all time: Daughter of the Forest, Mad About the Boy & Diary of a Blues Goddess
4. What are your three movies of all time: Silver Linings Playbook, Beauty and the Beast, and Mulan.
5. Who do you envy and why: Jennifer Lawerence and because she is a successful woman who gets to star in amazing movies
6. If you could make one positive change in the world, what would it be? : Help women love themselves more
7. What career would you want for your kids? : Sports, Dance
8. When over the past week have you felt really strongly about something? : My love for my brother (i was fortunate enough to spend the week with him in QLD)

If I were to find the common theme in all of those things it would be that I love things that involve music and have headstrong females as the leading role. So perhaps my passion would be that I can help women learn to love, to be healthy, to be independent and strong with music haha :)
