Book Notes From Celtic Inspirations

Celtic Inspirations by Writer Shalee Rae Moschetti The Thought Chapter.jpg

Hiya all, I have recently been reading a book that I picked up from the library called “Celtic Inspirations” by Lyn Webster Wilde. As a teenager I was obsessed with celtic music and druidism so this book has inspired me all over again. Because I love it so much, I wanted to share my book notes with you! Enjoy...

  • In this modern world it is so easy to lose connection with source and creativity. We get wrapped up in the need to earn a living, materialism, and anxiety about the future. Celts inspire us to instead circle, expand, and explore.

  • Alongside our ordinary world there is the “otherworld” a world of imagination, dream trance, and where usual rules don’t apply. This world can be tapped into when seeing beautiful things and tuning into the ordinary world. You must get outside more, even in cold and wet and walk and watch. Notice how you feel, the otherworld may have opened its gates.

  • Another way tap into the otherworld is in your dreams. If you feel a strong sensation in a dream, such as freedom or exhilaration, try to replicate that feeling in waking life - it could be a glimpse of hidden possibilities. We can also seek inspiration from our unconscious by asking for a special dream. This can be done by avoiding alcohol and heavy foods in the evening. You need to make sure your room is quiet, clean, and decluttered. Place a pen and paper next to your bed. When you lay down to sleep repeat to yourself “Tonight I intend to dream about...”. As soon as you wake write down any thoughts or images that come to mind.

  • The Celts were very fond of spells, incantations, and meditations. These can be made up but they must always be in the affirmative, never negative. The following can be repeated often as a spell of protection to shield yourself from hard situations “As I enter this place of healing to visit my mother, I know that she and I are protected, by angels and, no matter what, all will be well and they will be here, to hold us and connect us, with the powers of healing and peace.

  • A spell to find what is lost: Gather a small collection of feathers that you have found while walking. Sit at a table and clear the space in front of you. Hold the feathers in your hands and close your eyes. Bring a picture to your mind of what you have lost. Allow your mind to soar with the birds whose feathers you hold. Then open your eye and arrange the feathers in a pattern on the table. The pattern will show you where to look.

  • A great way to increase clairvoyancy is by drawing and looking at celtic meditation mandalas

  • Lose yourself to find yourself. The Celts believed that some of the most important journeys that we take in the physical world are ones that don’t lead us anywhere in particular. A great way to get lost is to go for a walk in an area that you don’t know that well and explore paths you don’t usually go down. Another great way is to sit in a cafe and absorb your surroundings, when you see a sign that resonates with you such as a book or bird, follow it and see where it will take you.

So there you have it! Some ancient rituals that can help balance you out from the rat race. Until next time,
